There are various Internet browsers and all have a number of different versions. It is difficult to explain the steps for all of the internet browsers, but here this document explains the steps to change the homepages of a few of the popular internet browser programs. These steps are not specific for any particular version of the browser, but with a little intuition, you will be able of changing your browser’s default homepage even though your version isn’t listed.

Select your browser from the list below and proceed with following steps.

Microsoft Edge

  • Open Edge browser.
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click on the More Actions button.
  • From the drop-down menu that appears, choose Settings.
  • Now choose A specific page or pages under the Open with section.
  • In the box that appears, click the down arrow and choose Custom.
  • Enter the web address you want for your homepage and add it by clicking on the + sign.
  • Remove the default start page by clicking on the X to the right of about:start.

Google Chrome

  • Open the Google Chrome.
  • In the top right-hand corner of the screen, click on the Chrome Menu.
  • From the drop-down menu that appears, select Settings.
  • Check the box next to Show Home button within the Settings page.
  • Next to the address shown below the Show Home Button, click Change option.

Tip: To verify if your new homepage has been set correctly, click Chrome Home Icon.

  • Open the Firefox browser.
  • In the top right-hand corner of the screen, click the Firefox Menu.
  • From the drop-down menu that appears, choose Options.
  • Enter the URL of the web page you want to set, under the General Tab in the Home Page field.
  • Now close the options tab.

Tip: Click the Use Current button if you want set the page as your homepage that you have opened.

Tip: Click Home Firefox Home icon to verify if your new homepage has been set correctly.

  • Open the Safari browser.
  • In the upper left-hand corner of the screen, click Safari.
  • From the drop-down menu that appears choose Preferences.
  • Enter the URL of the web page you want to set under the General tab in the Home page field.
  • Now close the current window.

Tip: Click the Set to Current Page button if you want to set that you have opened as your homepage.

Tip: Click Home icon to check if your new homepage has been set correctly.

  • Open the Internet Explorer browser.
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click Tools.
  • From the drop-down menu that appears, choose Internet Options
  • Enter the URL of the web page you want to set under the general tab.
  • Click Apply.
  • Click Ok.

Tip: Click the Use Current button if you want to set the page that you have opened as your homepage.

  • Open the Opera browser.
  • Click the Opera Menu button in the upper left-hand corner.
  • From the drop-down menu that appears, choose Settings.
  • Select Basic In the left window.
  • Click the button next to Open a specific page or set of pages Under the On startup section.
  • Next to that, choose Set pages.
  • Type in the URL of the site that you want to set your homepage and press Enter key.

The site will be added to the list, select it and press OK.
