If there is any software which conflicts the download of Trend Micro security software, you will receive an error message screen that says Incompatible Software Found.


If you get Incompatible Software Found notification, you need to remove the software in order to fix the issue otherwise you will not be able to install Trend Micro security system. To prevent interference with your Trend Micro security software, remove what you see listed below.

Before removing the interfering software, you should need to know why you should remove the Incompatible Software:

If your system has any incompatible software installed on it, it may deter the installation of the Trend Micro Security software. If your system has one or more incompatible programs on it, it may cause any of the following problems after installation of the Trend Micro Security software:

  • Computer becomes more vulnerable because of incompatibility issues
  • False detections
  • Computer shows degraded performance

How to Fix This Issue?

To fix the “incompatible software found issue”, follow the steps given below:

  1. Click on “Yes” button to remove the conflicting program.

On clicking the yes button will uninstall the conflicting software and your Trend Micro Security installation process will continue. If performing this step, you’re receiving the same message, follow the instructions of step 2.

  1. Try to uninstall the conflicting program manually now. Follow the steps included with step to find the list of conflicting programs and remove them.

 Steps To Remove Conflicting Programs

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10

  • To see the Start Screen, hover the mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Right-click on the Start Icon and select the Control Panel.


  • If you’re a Windows 8 user, you can open the Control Panel by simultaneously pressing the WINDOWS + I keys on your keyboard, then click go to the bottom right of the screen to see the Charms bar’s settings and click on the Control Panel.
  • Windows 10 users can access the Control Panel by simultaneously pressing the WINDOWS + X keys on your keyboard.

Windows Vista and 7

  • Open the Start menu > Control Panel.
  • Click on Programs > select Programs and Features.
  • Choose the program that you want to remove, and then click Uninstall or Remove.
  • Wait until the program doesn’t get uninstalled, then restart your PC.

Windows XP

  • Go to the Start Menu > Control Panel.
  • Click on the option Add/Remove Programs.
  • Choose the program you want to remove, and then click Remove or Uninstall.
  • Wait until the program is uninstalled, then restart your PC
  1. Now try for reinstalling Trend Micro software. Click on your product version that you want to install for its installation instructions:
    • Antivirus+ Security (Serial number starts with “A”)
    • Maximum Security (Serial number starts with “X”)
    • Internet Security (Serial number starts with “P”)
