Repair system image

  1. Open a mounted CMD and run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
  2. Press Win+X to open Power User Menu and click Command Prompt (Admin).
  3. Type wuauclt.exe /update now in the elevated command prompt window and hit Enter.

Modify the following registry key to install immediately

  1. Locate the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade]
  2. If it doesn’t exist, create it.
  3. Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value with Name “AllowOSUpgrade” (without the quotes), and change the Value = 0x00000001.
  4. Close and reopen the desktop Control Panel then go to Windows Update to check for updates.
