Apple may unveil 10.5 inch iPad Pro 2 in this Q1 2017, alongside two other models. Apple is all set to shake up the iPad lineup in a great manner in 2017 and it may be releasing three new iPads, a low cost 9.7 inch iPad, a new iPad Pro with a 10.5 inch display, and a 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2. It is expected that the new iPad Pro with a 10.5 inch display will be having the most interesting changes as far as Apple’s tablet range is concerned. For Apple’s tablet range, it will have a new screen size with a diagonal increase of just 0.8 inches over the 9.7 inch iPad.

It is probable that the device will retain the same physical shape, but it may feature an edge-to-edge screen. Apple may increase the screen size slightly. It is also rumoured and reported that Apple may sport OLED technology screen in the iPads also starting in 2018. It will be revolutionary upgrade for the iPad line with radical changes user interface and device design. However, it is not certain that a flexible OLED screen necessarily mean the iPad itself will bend or flex.

Apple has destined 12.9 inch iPad Pro and new 10.5 inch iPad for 2017 and it is rumoured that these two devices will run on Apple A10X SKUs.  Apple is working on the technology to build a bezel-Less 10.9in iPad Pro that can function without Home button. The 10.9-inch model’s nearly bezel-free design will allow to have the same overall footprint as 9.7-inch iPad Pro. To provide space for the front-facing FaceTime camera, a top bezel will remain, but bezel at the bottom will be reduced.

It is also rumoured that the much-interesting 10.9-inch model may be marginally thicker at 7.5mm and the next 12.9-inch model will also be 0.3mm thicker at 7.2mm. As Home button may not be there, there will be an on-screen software key and it is also expected that under the display glass, a capacitive touch Home key and a TouchID fingerprint scanner will  be embedded, probably using ultrasonic technology or similar.

Heat constraints are lesser in tablets than phones and Apple’s ‘X’ SoCs are more powerful as battery. Major changes next-generation iPads are in work and iPad fans will have to wait for some more time to get the brand new 10.5 inch iPad, 12.9 inch iPad Pro and cheaper 9.7 inch variants in their hands.
